Froneri launches the new Extrême Cookie Cone, the ice cream cone with a wafer made entirely of cookie dough

News - 18 May 2022

Froneri, the second largest company globally and the only one specializing exclusively in the production of packaged ice cream, has launched its new Extrême cone on the Italian market. The uniqueness of this product lies precisely in the waffle, with an innovative and novel feature: the traditional cone is replaced by a cone made of crunchy cookie cookie with chocolate chips capable of maintaining its fragrance for a long time.

There are four flavor variants for Italy: Vanilla and Caramel, Hazelnut, Cream and Pistachio.

Extreme Cookie Cone enters the world of cones as a brand new, unique "crossover" product that looks to experimentation in a market where classic and traditional flavors continue to be popular.

According to a research conducted by Doxa together with Froneri Italians, despite remaining attached to traditional flavors in the culinary sphere, are on the constant search for new sensations related to packaged ice cream with characteristics they have never experienced before (69%) such as crunchiness and, in general, different textures.

Leading the way among the various formats is the cone with 53% of the liking overall, for the 41% in addition, the ideal packaged ice cream must also be mouthwatering and appealing in appearance.

"No one has ever gone this far before - says Luca Regano, CEO of Froneri Italia -. We are talking about something unprecedented, difficult to imagine and to achieve. The cookie cookie makes Extreme unique in offering ice cream cones, giving that different experience that consumers are looking for. Italians usually expect something new every year, and Extreme undoubtedly meets this need ".

Cookie Cone targets an audience of millennials, explorers par excellence, always looking for new and exciting experiences, even in taste. The goal, however, is to cover a wider range of consumers, hence the decision to favor classic flavors as the basis for the four recipes.

The intent of Froneri is clear: to push the envelope and think outside the box with ice cream that has never before been seen in the Italian market to intrigue a wide and cross-section of consumers.
